How to Save and Make Money on Youtube

Where can you find a teacher to sit down and teach you how to peel a banana like a monkey, how to change a tire, and how to make a potato gun at the same place?  Such a place does not exist outside the realms of modern technology.  Now we can achieve such a place, and we like to call it YouTube.  We know YouTube can make us laugh from watching the latest viral video or even satisfy our music needs.  What most people don’t realize is that YouTube can help you save money, and even make money.

Saving money with YouTube

How many times have you had to pay someone to do something because you simply don’t know how to do it?  If you had to answer that question, then my response is that you are paying other people to do things for you too often.  Sure, we can afford to go to college to get a degree in electrical engineering or go to a tech school to learn automobile mechanics, but with YouTube, we can become renaissance men and women.  I went to get my oil changed a few weeks ago, and it cost me $56, or in other words too dang much!  If I had just watched a 10-minute YouTube video on how to change your oil, (which I will do in the future) I would have saved $40!  If you have a clogged toilet or sink, don’t hire a plumber, consult YouTube first.  Anything can be learned off this site.  You can even use it to learn things like how to play guitar and other hobbies.  If you just combine a few of these figures together then you will realize how much you save.  For instance if you pay $40 for an oil change, $100, and $20 for a private guitar lesson, you will have already saved over $160!  Next time try to look up how to do it on YouTube first.

Making money on YouTube

In 2006, Google bought YouTube for 1.65 billion dollars.  Many people didn’t realize how this could affect them, but you’d be surprised!  When the turnover of the site occurred, Google added some of its great apps to the site like Google AdSense.  What this means for you is that if you don’t use any copyrighted material in your videos you can generate revenue from your videos.  Of course, you will only generate substantial revenue if you get a massive amount of views, but think about how much money people make from viral videos!  You could make a nice chunk of change by this new thing called vlogging.  A vlog is a video blog, and like any regular blog, you can make money from it.  Who knows you could become the next internet sensation and be on your way to making some sweet cash.  All you have to do is make a Google AdSense account (must be 18 years or older), create a YouTube account, and start making videos.  It’s that simple!

Final Thoughts

YouTube may have started out as a center of social networking and entertainment, but in the past few years it has become much more than that.  YouTube has become the new free online university of general knowledge.  Whether you’re looking to learn how to do the next handyman repair or make a quick buck in the world of vlogging, YouTube is your tool to get the job done.
